What is the

Doberman Pinscher Club of Columbus Ohio?

Organized in 1968, the Doberman Pinscher Club of Columbus Ohio [i.e., the DPCCO],  is a group of individuals who are interested in the betterment and advancement of the Doberman Pinscher. The membership of the DPCCO includes pet owners, breeders, exhibitors and dog fanciers - the majority living in the central Ohio area. The objectives of this club are as follows:

Ø      To preserve and to protect the Doberman Pinscher and to continually strive to bring their natural qualities to perfection.

Ø      To urge members and breeders to accept the official breed standard, as approved by the American Kennel Club, as the only standard of excellence by which the Doberman Pinscher  shall be judged.

Ø      To protect and to advance the interest of the breed by encouraging sportsmanlike competition at dog show, obedience, and agility trials.

Ø      To conduct sanctioned matches and licensed specialty shows and obedience and agility trials under the rules and regulations of the American Kennel Club.

The Rescue Program

For a variety of reasons, a Doberman can become homeless: surrendered to a shelter, abandoned, or simply not able to be kept by his/her owners.  The Rescue Program is committed and dedicated to matching a homeless Doberman with a carefully investigated home.  If you, or anyone you know, is interested in adopting a Doberman or placing one in Rescue, please contact our Rescue Liaison, who will be happy to refer you to a recognized Rescue agency.
